Open calls
Egypt-US Cooperation Grant: Collaborative Research, Call-24: The Egypt-US Cooperation Grant is now accepting full proposals for the Collaborative Research program, with a submission deadline set for December 4, 2024, at 11:59 PM. This initiative aims to foster international collaboration in research, and those interested without a U.S. partner can complete the self-identification form. Researchers who applied in Cycle 23 may submit new proposals for Cycle 24, but proposals from Cycle 23 cannot be resubmitted. Notably, the Joint Board will only approve one grant for the same principal investigator (PI) across two consecutive funding cycles, which applies regardless of whether they serve as PI or Co-PI. Applicants who receive funding in Cycle 23 will be removed from consideration for Cycle 24. Each researcher can submit only one proposal per grant cycle, either for the Collaborative Research Grant or the Junior Scientists Grant (for Egyptian Junior Scientist PIs only). Proposals must be submitted via the STDF website to be considered eligible. (https://stdf.eg/web/grants/open).
The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announces the second call for proposals focused on research, development, and innovation projects to address key challenges in various fields. This initiative supports Egypt's 2030 Science, Technology, and Innovation Strategy. Proposals must be submitted electronically in Arabic or English, with specific forms from the Academy's website. While technical acceptance is not a guarantee of funding, priority will be given to innovative, marketable projects with economic or social benefits. Teams with successful past research, patents, prototypes, and partnerships with industry are encouraged to apply. (http://www.asrt.sci.eg/programs-grants/).
