a- Knowledge and understanding:
After successful completion of the course the students should be able to:
a.1 Identify the nature of infectious diseases of horses, donkeys, mules, foals, camels and pets infectious diseases.
a.2 Define the various infectious etiological determinants and their pathogenesis
a.3 Mention specific epidemiological pattern of all animals infectious diseases.
a.4 Describe different clinical manifestations and macroscopic pathological lesions
a.5 Summarize the most appropriate aids in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of the diseases
a.6 Approach the ideal therapy and accurate measures for control of all infectious diseases
b- Intellectual skills:
After successful completion of the course the students should be able to:
b.1 Asses the skills of appropriate moment to take samples for diagnosis.
b.2 Analyze the appropriate tools for diagnosis and judge the skills of reading and interpretation the results.
b.3 Enhance the ability to differentiate between infectious diseases and using chemotherapeutic agents of choice.
b.4 Create the ability to take a final decision in dealing with infectious disease epidemic and solving the field problems.
c- Professional and practical skills:
After successful completion of the course the students should be able to:
c.1 Obtain a history of animal cases (either individual or in herd) taking in the clinic.
c.2 Perform clinical examination and do collections of samples for laboratory diagnosis.
c.3 Use different diagnostic tools in diagnosis of infectious diseases (Field one) and interpret the common clinical and laboratory diagnostic procedures.
c.4 Perform differentiation between infectious diseases.
c.5 Manage and control the epidemics and solve the field problem in relation to animal and public health aspect
c.6 Write a report about animal biosecurity
c.7 Use the early warning system for early diagnosis of infectious diseases.
c.8 Treat the epidemiological information of OIE and other global animal health organization in diseases diagnosis & control
c.9 Provide emergency care to all species of animals
c.10 Pronounce the risk of contamination, cross infection and predisposing factors for diseases
c.11 Conduct a correct contact with relevant departments and other intended to reach a final correct diagnosis.
